Special Guest Coaches

Tod Mattox has been coaching volleyball in San Diego since 1982, working extensively with girls’ high school and club teams. His experience also includes coaching boys’ high school, AVP women, as well as men’s collegiate volleyball. Tod is now entering his 28th year coaching coaching girls’ high school at The Bishop’s School, and he is also the Director of Coaching Education at Coast Volleyball Club. 

In the past 15 years, he has focused on coaching education. In addition to being a frequent contributor and clinician for the Art of Coaching Volleyball, he has conducted coaching workshops for both schools and clubs, and presented several sessions at the AVCA National Convention.  In 2022, Tod and his coaching buddy, Davis Ransom, created a podcast, The VolleyPod, dedicated to the craft of coaching kids’ volleyball.
